Hi, it’s me again! Twice in one month!!
Registration is open for the City to the Sea Half Marathon & 5k and they have given Templeton Run Club members a promo code for $5 off each registration!! I’ve heard rumors that the price is supposed to increase soon so I wanted to get this out to you all before that happens. Click on the Registration link and enter as an individual. Click on the “Enter Promo Code” link on the top of the page, type in “TRCLUB”, and click apply.
I’m in the process of getting TRC team shirts made for the race and training. (If you’ve been running and want to get in on our Base Camp ½ marathon training program, shoot me an email! We’ve got 12 weeks until race day!) As soon as we get the design and shirt selection finalized I’ll send out ordering information. If you have a favorite brand/style of running shirt let me know! I’m currently looking into Sport-Tek shirts as they’ve proven nice to run in and they tend to be more affordable…and they have neon yellow…aka HIGH VISIBILITY! I also still have sweatshirts in case anyone wants a TRC hoodie before the weather gets cold again.
There are A LOT of fun runs coming up this month! We’ll be holding our first TRC Pub run on September 9th at 6pm from Cal Coast Brewery, to Firestone Walker, to Barrelhouse Brewing! Keep an eye on the event calendar on Strava for more details.
September 11th is a trail run put on by All We Do Is Run at La Cuesta Ranch in San Luis Obispo. (Registration for the 10k, 25k and 50k is still open and will close on September 9th.) We have some absolutely gorgeous trails in SLO County and this race is extra special because it’s held on property not open to the general public.
September 25th we’ll have our TRC Rock to Pier Run from Morro Rock to Cayucos Pier, followed by a tailgate breakfast at the beach!!
Lastly, if anyone has any connections with SLO County, let me know!! I’d like to find out how we go about requesting a crosswalk on Vineyard Dr on the 1.2 mile stretch between Main Street and South Bethel Road (preferably at Santa Rita Road where a lot of our runners cross.) Thoughts?? Suggestions?? I’d love to hear them!…and since I’m asking for favors…TRC would eventually like to put on a 5k race that benefits the Templeton High School Cross Country and Track Teams. Maybe even a scholarship fund later on down the road…pun totally intended!! The first thing we need is a location. Maybe a local winery? Please feel free to reach out with any ideas!
